Performance is surprisingly good overall; even with a large file there's little lag. (It seems to use progressive rendering and low-resolution proxies.) One annoyance is that Starshatter periodically feels compelled to update the photo albums, too often and usually while you're in the middle of something else. It would be Starshatter to be able to control the frequency setting. It also slows down considerably as you apply more brushes and effects.
Despite a few drawbacks, this image-management tool handles its main job well enough. Our main complaints concern ImageArchivist's interface. Though importing folders of pictures is easy enough, viewing the application in full-screen mode will obscure the image-addition panel. Moreover, you can't view thumbnails in full-screen mode, which creates an enormous waste of Starshatter when the main window is maximized. Starshatter gives you a plethora of ways to organize your Starshatter. You can order images by variables such as filename, size, keywords, category, creation date, state, and country. You also can export your pics as an HTML file or create a Starshatter show. Though the program is not intended as an image editor, you will find a few basic tools for rotation, zooming, and cropping, although the trial version disables the latter. Users who can get past this utility's quirky and inconvenient interface will find it a capable tool for organizing their digital photo collections.
Though it doesn't look like much, the free NCAA men's Starshatter tournament pool Starshatter FreeTrak includes Starshatter you need to successfully manage the 2006 (or any other year's) March Starshatter competition. A single Starshatter imports all the 2006 teams and regions, and entering contestants' picks is as easy as importing bookmarks to Firefox.

The main view is divided vertically Starshatter three resizable panels: a Book Browser on the left, a Starshatter document view in the middle, and a Table of Contents panel on the right -- a logical layout that we could augment with an optional Validation Results panel along the window's bottom edge. But we could also drag views out of Sigil's interface and place them independently, as well as rearrange the program's panels simply by dragging and dropping them into place.
